Hi, I'm Luigi Cerulo, an Associate Professor, in Computer Science, at the Department of Science and Technolgy of University of Sannio in Benevento.
Currently, I co-direct, togheter with Francesco Napolitano, the bioinformatics group research at Unversity of Sannio. Previously, at the onset of the new millennium, with Michele Ceccarelli, we pioneered the introduction of the bioinformatics discipline into a traditional biology faculty. We championed the education and propagation of computational thinking among life science students and professionals. Today, our network spans across two universities - Univeristy of Naples "Federico II" and University of Sannio in Benevento - and a research institute, Biogem. Over time, numerous students have joined our laboratory for their master's theses and research doctorates, many of whom have ascended to prominent roles in academia and industry.
